Achaemenian dynasty (550-331 BC)

- Music played an important role in society.
- Commonly found in courts and religious ceremonies.








Arab Invasion (AD 643-750).

- Music suppressed








Abbasid dynasty (AD 750-1258)

- IT'S ALIVE!! Music begins to beat it's drum again...
- The structure of formal Persian music is established.
